ASIA REGION
Sat 1. Dharam – India
Thank God for His blessings on our ministry. He brought nine people to faith in the past three months and all of them have been baptized. The Lord is blessing our small house church and we are planning to open a new church soon. Pray for provision of a church building.
Sun 2. Jeevakuraman – Sri Lanka
We visited a few schools in the short time that schools opened after COVID. But soon after they were closed again due to our adverse economic situation. We continue to run weekly Kids Club for vulnerable children. About 33 children regularly participate in the program. Thank God for the impact of God’s word on the children. Five children came to faith in the past quarter.
Mon 3. Worldlink USA
Please pray for Worldlink President, Jack Nelson as he leaves today for a two-week trip to Asia. He will be visiting partners in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. His focus will be to welcome new partners, encourage existing partners, and reconnect with old friends from Scripture Union who share Worldlink’s vision. Pray for ease of travel and entry to each country and for Jack’s time to be maximized and ultimately glorify God on this trip.
Tue 4. Ghosh – India
A Hindu priest initially prevented us from sharing the gospel message, but after many visits, God changed the situation and freed us to continue our ministry. Vishal was at risk of dying by suicide after the death of his wife. However, after listening and responding to God’s word, he regained his peace. He now comes to church regularly. Thank God for saving his life physically and spiritually. Please pray for Vishal’s continued healing.
Wed 5. Sipriyan – India
Thank God for the salvation of two souls in the past quarter. They were both delivered from alcoholism. They have openly confessed their faith through baptism. Thank God also for a mother who had not slept for many days. We prayed for her, and she was delivered and started sleeping.
Thu 6. Bijay – Nepal
I am discipling Santosh, a young man who was a Christian but went away from the Lord for several years. He went deep into alcohol addiction but has now returned to the Lord and is more passionate than ever. Please pray that our time together will help consolidate his restoration so he may become more useful in the Lord’s vineyard.
Fri 7. Tripura – India
We visited Ananto’s family and spent time sharing God’s word with them. So far there is no positive response, but the seed has been sown. Pray that they will soon come to Christ. However, thank God for three people who were baptized during the quarter. Please pray for my family and relatives, many of whom are yet to come to the knowledge of the Savior.
Sat 8. Charles – Pakistan
I visited Mrs. Naimat and her family and shared the word of God with them. God opened her heart to the word. She accepted Christ’s offer of salvation. Pray for insight as she faithfully reads her Bible daily. Pray for the success of future programs especially Vacation Bible Schools slated for four of our centers.
Sun 9. Biren – India
I recently visited and shared the gospel message in four local villages. The Lord has given us 25 people to disciple. Ten of these are now ready to be baptized. Please pray that they all may be well grounded in His word. There is a small part of a local village which is full of Muslims. Thank God for opening the door of effective ministry among them notwithstanding their initial resistance to our ministry.
Mon 10. Dhruba – Nepal
We organized a total of seven adult Bible camps in two districts in western Nepal in April. We ministered to 330 people in the seven camps. All participants in the camps engaged in inductive Bible study from the book of Colossians. Thank God for the blessings many received there.
Tue 11. Sanjeel – India
Rinku was suffering from serious demonic attack. Thank God for responding to our prayer and fully delivering her. The joy that flooded her heart is visible to all. Pray for our church and continued ministry.
Wed 12. Anonymous – East Asia
During the two and a half years of the pandemic, we experienced burnout and despair at not being able to gather due to restrictions on public activities in our country. Praise God, He gave us the opportunity to meet physically during this year's retreat. We are greatly blessed and refreshed through God’s word and the testimony of our missionary families.
Thu 13. Himanshu – India
Some people threatened to kill us if we dare preach the gospel message in the village. But we have not relented in our ministry and by the grace of our Lord, they have not been able to do us any harm. Please pray that we may continue to be strong and of good courage.
Fri 14. Bosonta – India
I have been sharing the Gospel message in two local villages. Thank God for drawing some people into His kingdom and for two people who are ready for baptism. One of the two is Obbo who turned to God from idol worship. My family has been excommunicated from our village. Pray for grace to continue to share the Gospel message fearlessly despite this persecution.
AMERICAS REGION
Sat 15. Byron & Irma – Guatemala
Marco was sent to prison for drunkenness, but he desired to live a changed life. After his release, his sister brought him to us. We shared the Gospel with him, and he gladly accepted the Lord as his Savior. For some months now, he has been attending Bible studies and hopes to be baptized soon. His wife and daughters have also started attending Bible study. Pray for his steady growth and his family’s salvation.
Sun 16. Francois – Haiti
Fred was born to parents who worship Satan. We met him while evangelizing the neighborhood and shared the Gospel message with him. He forsook his evil ways and received Jesus into his heart. He now boldly shares his story and God's message with his friends. Thank God for his salvation and pray for his parents’ deliverance.
AFRICA REGION
Mon 17. Patrick – Uganda
My interpreter at Soroti Community Church parenting workshop (one of the ten we organized during the quarter) couldn't stand the message. She kept weeping all through the message. I knew God’s Spirit was speaking straight to her heart. After the service, I had a one-on-one discussion with her and discovered her family was going through a lot of challenges. I stood with her in prayer and gave her one of my parenting books. Thank God for the impact of His word on 728 people who participated in the seminars and for 38 people who received the Lord as their Savior.
Tue 18. Abolaji – Plateau, Nigeria
Ministered to almost 2,500 children during visits to six schools. He was also the main speaker at the one-day rally that brought together 240 children and youth. Thank God for 269 children and youth who expressed their faith in the Lord Jesus along with many others who rededicated their lives to Him during the school visits and rally.
Wed 19. Victor & Rahab – Cote d’Ivoire
Conducted four training programs in mission and discipleship. Thank God for the trainees who have now adopted new approaches to mission following the trainings. They also ran two camps one each for children and teenagers. They ministered to 268 campers in total. Thank God for 10 campers who came to faith in Christ.
Thu 20. Matano & Juddie - Kenya
ABB is one of our disciples from the Munyoyaya community. As it became harder for him to stay in the community, we moved him to Nairobi for refuge. He has been so instrumental in reaching out to his family members. Bible Translation League has recruited him to help with the translation of the Bible into Munyoyaya. Please pray that he may continue to grow in his faith.
Fri 21. Johnkessly – Kaduna, Nigeria
“I was influenced by my peers in school to the point that I was avoiding all religious activities in school and in church. I started smoking and sleeping with men for money. My life became miserable. It was at this point that I accepted an invitation to attend a summer camp where the Lord rescued me and changed my life completely. I thank the Lord for his timely intervention in my life.” Testimony of a camper.
Sat 22. Hannah & Philip – Ghana
We had a training in the use of Mother Tongue Listening Groups (MTLG) for evangelism. The tool is a prerecording of the Bible in Mother Tongue. Listening groups are usually created in the community around the tool. In our case, we already have discipleship groups in these communities. So, we used the tool to enhance both our evangelism and discipleship efforts. Thank God for an increased number of participants in some of our centers following the introduction of this tool.
Sun 23. Abiola – Tchad
Thank God for the opportunity to share the gospel message with the ten students I teach English. One of them, Mahmoud, has kept on engaging me with some deep questions about the Bible and my messages. I see a man whose heart the Lord has opened and who is on the threshold of entering God’s kingdom. Please pray for a breakthrough in his life. Pray also for my barber with whom I often engage in some apologetics.
Mon 24. Cyprian – Sokoto, Nigeria
Ministered to more than 600 students during visits to 12 Bible Clubs. Thank the Lord for blessing the ministries with 45 new believers in a state that is very resistant to the gospel. (The Emir (King) is the head of Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.) Please pray for more breakthroughs in this state.
Tue 25. Marie-Therese – Rwanda
Thank God for the safe arrival of her grandson, Caleb. Between April and June, she and her team conducted Sunday School Teachers’ training in seven centers. They trained altogether 560 teachers. Pray that the trainings may enhance the ministry to children in the various churches.
Wed 26. Sola – Benue, Nigeria
We organized one-day conferences in 19 centers throughout the state. God’s word came clearly and powerfully as we exposed Hebrews 13:5. Three sessions were central to the conferences: Life Skills (Forgiveness), Academic Excellence (The discipline of an excellent student), and Bible study. We ministered to 3,468 children altogether. Thank God for 334 children who received Christ’s salvation.
Thu 27. Sidi & Emilie – Senegal
Thank God for the opportunity given to Sidi to share God’s word in three local churches. He also taught in the Bible School. Emilie, on her part, visited the prison in the company of their local church women's group. Pray for the growth of the five people who came to faith during the quarter.
Fri 28. Dennis – Kenya
Mwanajuma is a second wife of Hussein. She complained about her husband’s maltreatment. She was crying and felt bitter and angry. We comforted and prayed with her. We counselled her to call on Christ’s name and asked for his intervention in her family situation. She came back after a week to testify to the difference that Jesus Christ has made in her family situation. She prayed to accept Jesus as her Savior. Please pray for wisdom as we seek to disciple her. It is a tough road.
Sat 29. Stephen – Nigeria
Was the main speaker at the conference held in Gwagwalada. Bitrus, one of the 26 people who responded to the message, was delivered from cultism. He confessed feeling that the message was directed specifically to him as the preacher was addressing issues that were going on in his life. He surrendered his life to Christ and a deliverance prayer was conducted on him. Glory be to God.
Sun 30. Eugenio & Victorina – Mozambique
We faced serious challenges because one of the six disciples we sent to the Church Planting School in Nampula, came back seriously sick and almost died. The family and the community accused us of endangering his life especially when he rejected traditional medicines that the family brought. This brought great problem in our field, but we thank the Lord for His intervention. He was healed miraculously to God’s glory.
Mon 31. Nacisse & Vicky – Cameroon
Conducted open air evangelization in a few strategic places and distributed some clothes to help the needy. These programs strongly impacted people's lives. Praise God for 15 people coming to faith. Some new believers were baptized. Bouba testified that he never had peace as a Muslim but on hearing the Gospel message, it was clear that Jesus is the one to follow. Please pray for wisdom to know when and how to inform his family of his new faith.
