November 2024 Prayerlink

AFRICA REGION

Fri 1. David & Janet – Kenya

Being a Muslim, D.B. was wary of us and would avoid sitting with us whenever we visited their home. His wife is a new convert. Over time, we earned his trust, and he began to engage with us openly. During our discussions, which naturally progressed to religious topics, he overcame most of his reservations. His wife recently had twins. He joined his wife, carrying one of the babies on the day they were dedicated. He committed his life to Jesus Christ that day. The dedication became a triple celebration as we welcomed the infants and him into the family of faith. Thank God for drawing D, B to himself.

Sat 2. Angelique – Congo DR

I recently brought an orphaned girl into our home so we can take care of her, counsel her, and help her recover from the trauma of the sexual abuse she suffered in her neighborhood. This is a common occurrence in our area. She is making a steady recovery. Please pray for a full recovery.

Sun 3. Stellah – Tanzania

Stephen’s father is a Christian and his mother is a Muslim. After they divorced, Stephen lived with his mother who taught him to live as a devout Muslim. She gave him a Tasibihi (Muslim rosary) for his protection. Stephen came to faith in Christ during our ministry in his school. He testified that what his Tasibihi could not do, i.e., protect him from evil, Jesus did and has helped him to do well in his studies. Please pray that he may grow steadily in his faith and be a witness to his mum.

She came to Jesus at a conference, and she received counseling after.

Wed 6. Mzwabantu – S. Africa

One of the boys in our life-skills class was very hyperactive and disturbing others. He wasn’t open to others but later opened up and with that confessed his use of TIK, a drug that is commonly abused by youth in South Africa. He also confessed that his father is also on drugs. I counselled him and he received the Lord as his Savior. He is currently active in a church family as we continue to follow up with him. Please pray for the opportunity to meet his father and wisdom as we will seek to minister to him.

Thu 7. Jonathan – Liberia

Adula Kamara, a 15-year-old boy, converted to Christianity when he heard the Gospel preached while attending his school assembly. He joined the school Bible club and church and became active on campus for God. One of his friends from the school informed his parents of his conversion. When he returned home, he was tied up and denied food. We sent a team to his home. The team convinced the father to release him. He was released but taken to another school. The boy however has continued to attend church services. Please pray that the Lord may uphold him and bring his father to faith too.

Fri 8. Neo – S. Africa

During the mid-year school breaks, I supported one of our partner churches in running a camp. This camp was held in a multi-faith community, attracting children from various backgrounds. It was a joy to see children from different faiths come together, participating in activities, and learning about the love of Jesus. The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for outreach and fostering a sense of community among the children. Thank God for 20 of the children who received Jesus as their Savior.

Sun 17. James - Myanmar

Despite the challenging situation in our country, we make every effort to reach out to our target people. We are careful not to gather more than 20 people in a place since this can create a big problem for our ministry. This is a hard and dark period in our country. The political situation gets worse day by day. We face fuel shortages, and our economy is corrupted and crawling. Through it all, however, we thank God for watching over us and helping us reach out to many. Please pray for abundant fruit as we continue our mission to minister to lost souls.

Mon 18. Brian – Bhutan

Despite the numerous government and cultural restrictions, we face, we thank the Lord that over the past quarter, 8 people responded to the gospel message. I was glad that two new believers publicly declared their faith in Christ through baptism. One of the new believers, Tshering, was on the verge of committing suicide when he heard the gospel message and responded in faith. “I learned about God and Jesus Christ and His love for me, which has enabled me to understand the beauty of life.”

Thank God also for my younger daughter who is progressing in her study.

Thank God also for two fruitful worship nights hosted with Nissi United Church. People freely worshipped the Lord, heard God’s Word, and were encouraged by it.

After this training, we have seen the youth grow in their faith, become more confident when participating in church services, are keen to engage in missions, organize worship services for young people, and support the church in caring for children. The relationship between the students is also strengthened as they support each other in faith and Bible meditation. Praise God for the impact of our ministry on these youth.
